Summerlong

by kathleen edwards (it's a song)
I'm going to kiss someone in a field with sun on my back and this song playing in the background.

So much To-Do!

this is my To-Do list for Rush!
I've been really into To-Do lists lately. They're saving me from drowning a sea of overwhelmingness. RUSH IS SO SOON! I'm glad I started planning around Thanksgiving otherwise I'd be freaking out! I still have so much To-Do for it, but luckily I have a GREAT Director of Formal Rush (Ali Smith) who is so willing to aid me in my quest for the most awesome Rush ever. (Shar bear, I can assure you she feels very utilized lol).
In other news:
I go home on Saturday! :( I'm so sad, break was SO SHORT! but I'm excited to move in with my new roommates and start a NEW SEMESTER :)
I am an official resident of Utah. This is bitter sweet... but mostly sweet. I only have to pay like $200 for tuition now, THANK YOU PELL GRANT :) I feel like I'm going to college for free now! my parents are pretty happy about it too
My brother Randy and his girlfriend Amanda are back from Christmas in North Carolina and I'm pretty excited! We're having a belated Christmas with them on New Year's Day. I love them soooo much and they're hilarious.
I love my dog.
I'm kinda sick... but getting better. I will NOT be sick for the first week of school. I have too much to do and it is just absolutely out of the question. Therefore I am resting a lot and drinking lots of fluids in order to combat my bodies desire to be ill.
I'm officially sick of boys, no one has wronged me or anything lately, I've just decided I need to focus on other stuff first! I am much too busy for boys this semester (I think I say this every semester...hmmm)
I can't wait to see all my friends on Sunday!!!! WOOOO ALPHA PHI!
MY PARENTS ARE COMING TO VISIT ME IN CEDAR IN MARCH!!!! They already bought their plane tickets and i could NOT be more excitedddd!!!
Love you all :)

schmzebraaaa

my favorite present besides this thing i got that keeps brown sugar soft
First of all I'd just like to point out how much I have been blogging over break. This clearly shows that while I am not in school and have lots of time, I DO blog.
Secondly I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! Mine was quite lovely. Every year we all open our stockings eat breakfast and then do presents. Opening stockings is usually my favorite part of the day and this year was no different! I got THIS AWESOME schmzebra! My favorite animal. And if you've ever watched the O.C. you know who Captain Oats is. Well, I have a Captain Oats, it's name is Princess Oats actually, but she's only for when I'm home and I'm so excited because now I have Captain Schmzebra who I can take to school with me!
Also, Rush is in THREE WEEKS. THREE WEEKS. All I have left to do is order the food. and finish the skit... but it's really almost done! I'm not too stressed, but I can't wait for Fall Rush when I have more than 6 weeks (that's literally how long it was) to plan. CROSS YOUR FINGERS. hopefully it'll be a Great Rush, I'm very exciteddd :)

Have a Merry Abercrombie Christmas

I'm not one to typically complain, but I will have worked 36 hours this week at A&F. I love working! I love working at A&F, but I've worked two 9pm to 3am shifts and one 9pm to 6am shift. TOTALLY brutal! And I'm just kinda sad, cause when I'm not working I'm sleeping and I pretty much never get to see my family- THIS IS THE WHOLE REASON I AM HOME! butttttt it's okay, cause i took most of next week off :). AND TOMORROW IS CHRISTMASSSSSS!!!!!!!! And on the positive side, I can pay for my dues for Alpha Phi myself! This was my goal. Since my parents pay for school and rent, it's the least I can do!
And although I complain I've laughed pretty hard at work... just for memories sake here are some of our new insides:
"Guys! I'm not sure if I've grown into my ........"
"All my Dad talks about is politics and the weather" "mine does that too"
"the floor is pretty comfy"
"JENNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAA"
"you need a ruler? how long does it have to be?"
"preserved" "why don't you just throw it in there with the Jam!"
"You had dinner with him?" "No she hates him"
"Guys, my seasonal boyfriend keeps sending my song lyrics and S***"
"F***!" "Excuse me miss can you clean up your language B*****"
(There's a lot of fowl language at the crombie and I've censored most quotes lol)

But Anyways! I hope everyone has BOMB.COM Christmas! It's my all time FAVORITE time of year- so enjoy!

My Life REALLY is average

sorry the words are backwards.... and it's blurry

The other day I was in my closet and I looked at a box of shoes I had. Printed in small font on the side of the box said "average content: 2." And I got to thinking, does that mean some people only get one shoe? and others get three? And then I realized dang, I'm lucky, I got both! No more, no less. And then I realized I wasn't lucky... I was just average.

A couple weeks in Review

remember a year ago? Some things never change....

Sorry... Apparently I can't even manage to post once a week. I'll put it on my long list of new years resolutions. Anyways, it has already been an emotionally filled roller coaster of a week. And it's only Thursday! but from this week and the weeks before here are a couple of highlights/lowlights
1. I'm going to be in Dancing with the Stars! (SUU edition)
2. I dated a great guy for about 4 days(... oh long distance. how many times have you screwed me over.) if you ever read this, Thanks Scotty, you were so nice and fun.
3. I CAME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I love being home, it's like the best thing ever! I love my family and my friends and my puppy :)
4. Lunch with my friend Chris. Even though I paid for his lunch, it was well worth it to hear about all his INSANE college stories. It made me grateful I was mormon too... I'd be a HOT mess otherwise. And probably have all sorts of STD's.
5. WE BOUGHT OUR CHRISTMAS TREE :) i love christmas. it's by far my favorite holiday. And every year I get to pick out the tree, my whole family goes, but for some reason it's ultimately me who decides. Which makes it all the more fun.
6. We're sending out this family picture of everyone for our Christmas cards this year. I look gross.
7. I haven't worn eyeliner in two days AND have gone out in public... it's kinda weird.
8. My best friend IN THE WHOLE WORLD comes home on Friday. I couldn't be more excited.
9. My house in NY is always freezing. 800 W. I miss your constant 75 degree thermostat status
10. My friend Tim came home from his mission! He's going to go to SUU and I dunno... it's exciting!
11. (sorry I have more things to say) MY PARENTS ARE THE BEST. they bought me and my brother and his girlfriend tickets to see Wicked!!!! I've already seen it but I'm so excited to see it again! Yay!
12. I'm going to visit my high school tomorrow to see some of my old teachers (this is both a pro and a con)
I really do have the best life ever. I'm so grateful for everyone and everything in it. Even though things don't always work out the way I expect I'm so glad for each experience I've had.

ELECTIONS!!!!!

Last night was our elections for Alpha Phi, and after a year of anticipation and mystery I was elected to be Vice President of Member Recruitment, yes yours truly!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I have tons of (what I think are) awesome ideas and in my department I have ali, Jamie and Aubrey. I think all of these girls will do great in helping me plan and execute. I'm way way excited!!!
After elections we had our first EC(execute council) gathering. I'm serving with Timian (as president), Brooke D. ( as Vice President of Program Development), Jessica Brooks (as Vice President of Marketing) and Michele M. (as Vice President of Chapter Operations). It's a great E.C. and all of the girls are so funny and willing to help and serve our chapter. I'm really honored to serve in this position because I've always wanted some type of leadership position but was never really given a chance in high school, so I'm extremely grateful.
At our EC meeting we selected, after much discussion, the girls that we thought would serve best in appointed positions. It was interesting to see who wrote for what positions and it'll be even more interesting to see how our chapter will grow. I really can't wait and I'm ready to jump right in! And Congratulations to all the girls and your appointed positions!!!

Let's Just Leave it at This

from right to left: Mikkela, Kim,Jenni, Brooke, Shar and I picking out toys for less fortunate kids; we were just testing these ones out! :)
To say that this week has been as delicious as pumpkin spice cake would be an over-statement. To say that it made me want to run under a truck is also an over-statement. So let me clue you in on what kind of a week it really was.
1. talked to Alicia!! She is just too funny. I love and miss her times a bajillion!!!!!
2. found out that I'm failing, truly failing my web design class (BUT DON'T WORRY! It's fixable, and will be fixed. asap.)
3. put up Christmas lights in our living room and my room!
4. found out I have to move out... because 6 guys are moving in
5. go home in 20 days! I really couldn't be more excited. I am SO SO SO excited!!!! I miss my family so much!
6. For Alpha Phi we did Sub for Santa, it was so fun and one of the best parts of my week
7. I'm done with my art insights class!
8. only have three days left at my internship!
9. cleaned my room
10. college is hard.
That's what I learned and did, remember to always keep a positive attitude. It helps!

Busy as a Bee

As you have noticed I suck at blogging this semester, SO I just decided that I'll try and blog once a week about stuff that's gone on that week... in list form, obviously. Lists are way better than sentences.
1. renewed my temple recommend!
2. shared testimony in church
3. went to the Howl, dressed as a G thug
4. hung out with my best buddy Jonathon
5. rearranged my room (and cleaned)
6. HUNG UP CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!
7. spent a delightful saturday lolly gagging around the house with kaily bean
8. sang christmas songs in wal mart with kaily
9. got proposed to by Cole for Italian wedding!
10. missed family and looked at cute pictures of my nephew
Well those are the most exciting things that I can think of for this week! Love you all hugs and kisses!

My Happy Place

So I know I'm terrible at updating my blog on my life. But today I thought of something I actually wanted to say. You know how people have happy places that they go to when they just need some time by themselves? I finally figure out where mine is. It's home depot.
Home depot is a place where you can go and you don't have to worry about what size you are, who thinks your cute or not or why you ate that hot dog. Home depot is a safe haven for shopaholics like myself. Why would I buy a bunch of tools? I know I don't have time to start a new hobby! So it's not even a temptation. Also, one can wander around and admire new cabinetry, wood flooring, colorful paint chips and breathe in the wonderful smell that is home depot. The staff are friendly, but not pushy; helpful but not intrusive. There really is no reason not to like home depot; and that is why it's my happy place.

Rush Week and Labor Day Weekend!

wowzerzzz.
Sorry... no one says that anymore.
Anyways Rush week was SO INTENSE, but I loved every second of it! I love love love my sisters and getting new ones.
Thursday or sometime around there we had our Greek BBQ. Kaily and I also celebrated our one year anniversary since that is where I met my amazing little to be. It was really fun and we got to talk to a lot of girls. Unfortunately I was working on homework right up until it started so I'm in next to zero pictures. :(

Oh so then we had the weekend and I GOT TO SEE ALICIA! and go on this semi-lame, semi-fun date with shar her pretty much fiance and his roommates. It was okay. BUT SATURDAY was so fun. I love Alicia more than words and appreciate all her wisdom that she imparts to me. We had a delish breakfast at this way sketch diner with Shar then drove down to Cedar. We ate at the new cafe rio in Cedar with some alpha phi's and John John. Then she saved me yet again by helping me make these semi ridiculous centerpieces for Tuesday. On Sunday we chilled and went to her cabin, Kaily slept both the way there and back. I still secretely wish Alicia lived here! And hanging out at her cabin reminded me of when we spent that long weekend there last semester and laughed so hard. That cabin is full of laughter... except when it's empty... Monday I don't remember what we did except Alicia left and I was sad again.

Tuesday was Skit night for rush. AND I WAS A DAY CHAIR. it wasn't too stressful, I was just worried about the skit, but I think it turned out all right, people laughed sometimes! I had fun and loved getting to meet some new chicas.

Wednesday was Meet the Sister's where we talk more about the 4s's (Sisterhood, Scholarship, Social and Service) it went super smooth and I think all the new girls had a good time. I know I did. Rush is pretty bomb.

Thursday was Pref Night and was beautiful as always. Shar wrote the new girls name's on their plates with chocolate- totally adoreable. The girl I prefed was kind of shy but so nice and funny and I'm glad she got a bid! I love Pref and our other ceremonies I always feel like it's perfect time for our chapter to remember why we're sisters.

Friday night was the Bid Day Party and I was so glad Andrew, our Bordeaux Beau could be there. He is a great guy and perfect fit for our chapter. It was fun, I sat at a table with Kristy and Meg and we laughed our heads off. So that was Rush week! Pretty amazing, busy and fun. And I'm so excited for the new girls.
Also, I deepy apologize for not having pictures up, I've been having some technical problems with my computer and had to put all my pictures onto flash drives and am too annoyed with them to put them up here.

First Day of Junior Year

It's official!!! I'm a Junior IN COLLEGE! When did this even happen? Wasn't I playing barbies and making mud pies two days ago? I'm not too nervous about being a junior and totally done with school though, since I declared a double major. Helloooo world I am now Kady Welch double major in graphic design and communications, emphasis on advertising.
It's great being back in cedar, I really do love it. I love my messy room (which I swear messes itself up...) and my classes seem so great. I love my roommates... for the most part. And I LOVE alpha phi! I can't wait for rush week and all the majorly exciting things that it brings.
I know my parents don't read my blog, but I'd just like to thank them for everything that they've done for me. Including making/encouraging/helping me get out here every single semester. I miss my family so much already!

My Birthday!

Just pretend this picture is up twice, and that's how old I am!
Today I turned 20! There is officially no going back in life now!... Not that there ever really was. The celebrations began at midnight with a midnight swim with Ben. I couldn't find a towel, so I had to use this tablecloth.
We seriously had so much fun. I'm glad my brother is back and can play with me, I'm glad we're good friends now.
It took me like five times to take this picture and get it right. Also for some reason I can't un-bold this font... I'm a graphic design major and can't even figure out blogspot... great.
When I woke up in the morning I waddled around then my mom and I decided to go to the Lee outlets. We had a lot of fun shopping and decided to make it a tradition that I always get a dress at Ann Taylor Loft (as long as they have cute stuff.) We also ate lunch at this cute little restaurant.

Then when we got home I went swimming with my Mom and Dad. It was SO fun! I swear my Dad hadn't been swimming in like a bajillion years.
For dinner I asked to go to the olive garden. I promise I will never ever NEVER ask to go there again. It is very icky food. To like the tenth power.
Then I went swimming again at 11pm with my friends Allison, Sparkles, Hannah and Chris. Overall a good birthday full of plenty of swimming, which I love... so I was happy. :)
And thank you to EVERYONE to sent me a facebook message or text. I love you all!!

My Boy Christian

Do not ever make a photo comment on facebook that says "My Boy Christian." Unless that boy really is yours; as in boyfriend. If not one of your sisters may leave a comment that says "awhhh will you miss him" causing Christian to be upset because not only does he not know who this is, he knows you are just friends. Thus Christian may become upset and leave interesting comments on said photo. It is better to avoid this whole situation by just stating "My FRIEND that is a boy whose name is Christian." Not that I know from experience.
Also do not ingest food from Friendly's if you would like to keep your bowels functioning at a regular pace. But, do go to lunch with one of your favorite people who you haven't seen in 6 months and laugh and remember why you love them. As a friend.

Three Parties, One Epic Night

As the result of working at Abercrombie and Fitch and by having a facebook I ended up at three very interesting parties Saturday night with my dear friend Allison, who I kept referring to Al Pal for the entirety of the night... for unknown reasons.
Party #1
Laura Stella's New Apartment Celebration
Location: Madison Ave, Albany NY
Al Pal and myself in downtown Albany... way sketch. We parked in a grocery store parking lot.

Al Pal found this old thrown out cake on the streets. It made us laugh.
Other Epic things that happened:
I saw someone do a line of coke
some creeper tried to talk to Al and I about which is better.... weed or alcohol?

Party #2
Tonys Front Porch Throw Down
Location: Albany... right next to the tanning place on Rt. 20
All the Abers there. (left to right) Charles, myself, Tony, Brittany, Davin, Parker and I... don't even know his name, but we work together!
Al Pal and I
Epic Things that Happened Here:
Al learned how to play flip cup
I learned how flip cup is played
"Georgie!"
Parker fell on top of me
Al gave me a piggy back ride

Party #3
Some kid in G-lands house
Location: Somewhere in GuilderlandAl and I spent 30 minutes in the bathroom, dying of laughter but I can NOT remember what was so funny! We just ended up here cause we wanted to see Sparkles and he was here... not at his house where he should have been.
The Pumpkin Bathroom Picture. Potentially the funniest part of the night. Me, Al and Sparkles
Other Epic things from part #3:
The hoes
black boys smoking on the back porch free style rappin it up
the bathroom

Tryon Family Reunion

view from our picnic area
Tryon is my middle name. It's also my grandmother's maiden name. I used to hate it, but it's not so bad anymore I guess. We have a family reunion every year , but it's the first one I've been to in awhile. With the addition of deviled eggs to the plethora of food that can be chosen from I concluded that it wasn't as awful as I used to think it was. We also celebrated Gram's 90th birthday. (Congratulations GRAM!). Nothing too epic happened except Rand was a little tipsy and he and ben and I were all playing frisbee and he said he might want to go look at those bird over there later. Five seconds later he said, "K I want to go look at those birds now." It was funny... but you might have had to have been there. Randy and I... we're strange.

Mine and Ben's serious faces Brook and I! I love her! We're cousins and it makes me happy how very much related we look

Gram and Grampie with Lil E man

Typical

This may look unusual, but it is certainly typical. There isn't much of an explanation, it's just a sample of what I do on a daily basis.
It is for pictures like this that I consider myself awkward... but it's also one of the reasons I just crack myself up!

Mary Ellen!

My Mom is the sweetest most patient person I know. I was so happy that I was able to spend time with her on her birthday. On her actual birthday I went "quilt shop hopping" with her and her two best friends, Mary and Janet. I can't say that is was particularly fun lol... but I was just glad to hang out... and get a free awesome lunch.

The night before my Mom's birthday our WHOLE family went to bombers in Albany, then we went bowling! My parents have always told us that when they were dating my Mom would always win. Neither of them had been bowling in years. My Dad kicked my Mom's trash. It was seriously SO MUCH FUN. We were all yelling and whooping and gaggling about the bowling alley. It's a good thing we were like the only people there...
The Girls Team

Action Shot of Mom

The Boy's Team

We stopped at Poppy's to get ice cream after. Also very fun. I LOVE my family. and birthdays.

America

Wow! I just watched John Adams with my family. And BY GOLLY if there was not a more marvelous, influential, respectful time than his. Seriously, What has happened to our country? Where is our passion for living, our passion of truth and sincerity, justice and respect of all persons. It's devastating to see how low this great country has sunk. How our political leaders (I'm not just saying this about Obama or anyone in particular) meddle and disregard their predecessors . It's awful to see how divided we are as a people, referring to each other as democrats and republicans and no longer as Americans. I only hope that someday we can see each other as our forefathers did, as lovers of aspiration, hopes, goals, and all things good. Hobbes once talked of the natural passions of man, such as pride, partiality, revenge etc... And I personally have resoled to ignore those passions as best as I can. I want to be a good person.
ANDDDDD that is my speech on life for tonight. Let's see...My grandma is 90 years old (as of yesterday) Happy Birthday Grammmmyyy! and my Mom also celebrated her birthday this week too! I love them both soooo much!

Palmyra or Bust!

Last Friday my best friend Hannah and I decided to drive three hours to see the Palmyra pageant. I'm SO glad we did! We talked to our dear friends Little and Diaz on the phone and caught up with them and listen to music and sang out hearts out! I got to visit with my old efy counselor Chelsea and a girl Andie who used to be in our ward, it was so fun! I can't get over how I could not see either of those people for appx. three years and it was just like we saw each other yesterday! I always get so excited when that happens. Hannah, Chelsea and I each got these cool pins for giving the missionaries 5 referels each! Sooo if you get a call from the Mormon missionaries soon, I'm probably behind it haha. Oh and on the way home we stopped at a McDonalds, because we were starving and I ate the nastiest food of my life. It was not the kind of McDonalds quality you get in Cedar... but I did get a snack wrap, and thought of Alicia. We'd always get a strawberry milkshake and a ranch snack wrap, sit in her car and talk :). GOOD TIMES :).
Oh! And this week is Mary Ellen's birthday! WOO! Happy birthday Mom, I know you don't read my blog, but I love you and you are so the best Mom in the world and I would be a terrible person if you had not raised me the way you did haha. Thank you for everything!
And it's my grandmothers 90th birthday! WHOA! 90! that is... quite old. And she's still up doing her thang. My grandma is the biggest inspiration! She leads a happy modest life, with my grandpa who is 91, and they care about their family so much. They do everything they can to help us out. So thank you Grammy! I don't think you'd even know how to get to my blog if I told you (they've never had a computer), but I love you!
Well, I feel like I've said enough for today. CEDAR SOON :). Less than a month! Can't wait! Alright everyone, peace out!

Bitter

Normally I enjoy bitter things... like lemons. And occasionally I enjoy that self-destructing feeling of being bitter. Well maybe enjoy is a strong word... more like allow. I allow myself to be bitter... occasionally. Most recently I've become bitter about boys...I'm not saying that I have no more faith in men anymore, but after watching He's Just Not that Into You (the best movie ever and my new bible) I've decided that until my exception comes along, I'll be the rule. And being the rule blows chunks... but someones got to do it. I'm probably not making any sense... ANYWAYS all I really want to say is my exception man WILL HAVE STRAIGHT WHITE TEETH. end of discussion.
In other news... being home is okay. I get a little bored sometimes and it's not as sunny or as warm as Cedar, but it's still good. I LOVE working! I work at abercrombie and fitch (the adult store... used to work at the kids store) and it's a barrel of monkeys. SO fun.
And I've been spending a lot of time with Hannah and the family... Annnnddd that's about it really! I miss my biggie and my little. And I'm happy I have my puppy with me :)

My Mom and I went out to dinner! The Madison Cafe is super cute!

Hannah and I at dinner on Sunday :) good times!

Rules of Living

Inspired by Olivia Joules and recent events.
1. Stop. Think. Don't Panic, your life will go on.
2. There is room for regret, but it takes up more room than you'd think. Let it go.
3. Be Kind and polite and you'll go places
4. No one wants to be around negative people, so Be Happy.
5. Try new things.
6. If you're feeling emotionally uncomfortable, you're working. And that's not bad.
7. Have confidence.
8. There is something to be sad for going out on a limb, trust your gut.
9. No one is thinking about you. They're thinking about themselves just like you.
10. Life is way to short. Have fun.
In an update on my life... I'm back in New York. It's aiight. I miss my sisters more than words and kinda realized they truly are family. To my alpha phi family, thank you you guys are the shiz. You've taught me more than I could have ever learned on my own.
I got to see my puppy AND take him on a walk today :). he LOVES walks and I LOVE him! I've already been to the mall, which after the fashion show mall, it doesn't seem so amazing, but it still felt like I was really home. I've hung out with my best friend (we got lunch and pedicures!) and I realized why she's my best friend all over again. She is so real, not fake, and I love her! I got to see my brother Randy and his FIANCE Amanda! They're sweethearts and I adore them. And I made out with a boy within the first 24 hours that I was home... don't worry, it's pretty much a summer tradition. And I visited my ex-boyfriend Matty and remembered why we dated... and why we broke up. So being home has been pretty jam packed and emotionally interesting.

Last Night Alone

So I realized that tonight is my last night in Cedar alone. Sarahbear comes tomorrow night. I'm SO excited. I've been cleaning my house a ton and may I say it looks about as bomb diggity as a college house could look. At least my college house. Oh! I also have BIG news! I AM GOING TO HAVE MY OWN WEBSITE! we're making it for my digital imaging class and I'm SO excited! It's going to have a lot of my art work on it, a little bio about me and any info for people to buy, commission or just ask me questions. And BTW making your own website is a lot harder than it looks. I greatly appreciate the world wide web a lot more now... plus I think it's kinda a cool thing to know how to do. Everyone can use the internet, but can you make your own site? FROM SCRATCH? I can :).
Anyways...I've recently read Alicia's blog and I've been inspired to make a list of things I want to do before I die... they are in no particular order
1. skydive
2. para-sail
3. go to a rodeo
4. visit england
4. visit india
5. be an efy counselor
6. work somewhere where I can have the experience to influence millions of people
7. learn how to hip hop dance
8. own a house
9. buy a piece of furniture from pottery barn
10. visit where I was born
11. get married
12. graduate college
13. get a Masters
14. make a quilt for my Mom
15. have a snail mail pen pal from somewhere exotic
16. do my family history/find out if I'm real royalty or not
17. take a ride in a hot air balloon
18. pet a tiger
19. swim with dolphins
20. go to seaworld
21. complete a triathlon
Well that's all I've got so far, but if something else occurs to me I'll fo show add it. In the meantime, I'm going to get some sleep. peace out.

Hot Down Summer In (Cedar) City

Basically Summer in Cedar has been bomb.com. I've had some rough patches here and there but overall I think it's going down as the best first half of summer EVER. I've loved getting to know people so much better, being able to spend time doing my own thang, and not working or going to school for a month was pretty fun too. I think I've learned a lot as well. I'm sad to be leaving, but excited to see what NY will have in store!

These are the girls I've spent most of my summer with. It wouldn't have been half the laughs and half the fun without them. Thank you girlies! (please add in Raquel and Kaily to the picture... mentally). Don't get me wrong, I LOVE boys, but I have yet to find one that is of the same caliber as a sister.
Oh and Michael Jackson... I don't think you were a totally sane person, but I like your music so I hope you rest in peace.
I just think this picture is cute... a couple weeks ago some of us decided we wanted to go to Vegas... we just made it to St. George.

There are so many other things I want to blog about... I guess I just need to blog more often huh? Basically I'd like to say that I'm happy with my life. I'm excited for changes. I miss way too many people to name. And thanks to everyone who has made my 1st half of summer SO SO SO amazing!

Pretty Pinche

So I'm pretty sure pinche is a verrrryyy bad word in spanish, but I don't know what it means really and everytime I ask someone they give me a very round about answer.... so I keep saying it. If I insult anyone by saying it, please forgive me.
There are two reasons I keep saying pinche a lot. First, the puppy I puppy-sit sometimes is really named Bailey, but all of the sigma chi's call her pinche and it's just so cute that I had to start calling her that.
^Pinche the puppy
Also my dear sister Jennie (alpha phi sister) and I were at a party the other night at the Chi Phi's house and everyone was a lil buzzed and they started calling Jennie, even after Jennie insisted she wasn't pinche... so then we called her pretty pinche and she was okay with that. Then someone started calling her J-money, which stuck too.

^J-money aka Pretty Pinche
Basically the reason I'm reciting this story for you all is so that you understand how FUNNY and FUN my life is right now. This story probably wasn't the best example, but it makes me smile. Seriously though, besides pyschology, my life is awesome right now!
I did realize today though that I've been away from a lot of people for a longer than ever time. Like I've been away from my best friend Hannah for what will be SIX months when I see her again. This is simply unacceptable. I've been away from Alicia for 2 months, the longest we've been separated since last summer... but we weren't SO close last summer. And I'm going to visit her next weekend. WOO!!! I've been away from Kaily bean for 2 months as well, but she comes home TOMORROW!!!! And from my parents AND my puppy and all my family for six months. and I MISS MY DOG SO MUCH!... and my family lol.
I'm pretty excited though, my sister Sarah (my real one) is coming to pick me up when I'm done with school! She's flying out from NY into Vegas and then driving from Vegas to Cedar. Then we're going to chill here for a day or two and then chill in Vegas for a day or two! It'll be so fun and I'm excited to just spend some time with her.
As excited as I am to go home I am going to be SO sad to leave Cedar. It really has become my home the past couple of months. Which is kind of sad... because let's face it people, it's Cedar City. In all honesty though I don't think I've ever had a more fun-filled summer. Everynight and everyday I just hang out with friends, we go to movies, to dinner, play card games, go swimming, go on mini-hikes, bake things, make crafts, play rockband, play mario party, go on drives, go to st. george, take pictures, watch SYTYCD and Greek, we have movie night every wed. @ 6, and go to starbucks, we go shopping, we go on walks in the middle of the night, we have KICK-A parties, we go to Denny's at 4am and watch brown bear spill water everywhere. It's so chill here, I can just walk into the Sigma Chi, Alpha Phi, or Chi Phi house and just hang out... It's hard to do that in NY when everything is driving distance away.
I complain a lot about Utah and how the people are so weird and talk weird and wear aeropostale (seriousy... WTH?) but I do love the people. Everyone is so fun.

^denny's at 4am with brown bear

^my friend alex, he's a chi phi, so nice and nice to look at ;)
Well anyways this is a WICKED long post... and I apologize, but I had a lot to catch you all up on! Peace out!

My art is on the internet!

Hey everyone!!!!
So I just discovered something very exciting!!!
Today I was just messing around with stumble upon and what not and got to my teacher for 2D Design's website and guess what I found!ONE OF MY PROJECTS!!!! Isn't that cool?! K here it is...

In this project we had to show a transition of an object and utilize two different types of art. I think mine were realistic to representational? K I can't remember, but it's still way cool!

Idiots

we all have a little bit of idiot in us... some more than others. Or sometimes our idiot side gets the better of us. Like say you like a boy... but you text him ALL the time and it's just like Niagara falls coming out of your mouth and yeah you guessed it your making an idiot of yourself. So, let's try and remember to be less idiotic.
Anyways... summer has been quite uneventful well besides encountering the idiotic side of many people. I've loved hanging out with Kristy and getting to know her better. And it made my day when Sarah and Mikkela came to visit. Love their lives! Michelle is so funny and I'm glad she came down to Cedar for a bit too. I love talking to Alicia and hearing all about how successful "in the real world," she is.
I'm not a fan of everyone telling me I have no purpose cause I have no job. Or the fact that my mirror shattered and fell and broke my glasses :(, but other than that it's been pretty ok. I'm actually excited for school to start. I believe it's quite weird how much I love learning.
I wish I was meeting more people though. I'm done with hanging out with the same old same old and really want to do something different. Like got to Austria or something! I apologize that this post sounds so whiny. I'm sure it's not too fun to read... oh whatever.
In my attempt to be more service oriented I made a care package for my brother and his ex-companion... they were not supposed to get transferred! I wanted to mail everything in one box! So anyways here's a picture of that!

Also... sometimes I doubt my creativity and artistic skillzzzz. But recently I tye dyed some shirts and got all this dye on my hand. Instead of being peeved that it was there I explored the creativity of it. Mucho fun and now I know I'm just a little bit weirder and for sure not a scientist or something cccrazy!

And well... that's all I feel like blogging about today. Peace out

Pride

We're always told that pride is a bad thing. And I think it can be... but maybe not always. Let me give some examples
1. I am proud of myself that I have finally stopped crying that Alicia has left (and the rest of my APhi Family)
2. I'm proud that I totally changed my attitude about summer here in Cedar and have been having a bomb.com time
3. I'm proud of Alicia for doing SO well at her new real person job
4. I'm proud of my brother whose on his mission
And I'm just happy that I'm happy right now. Sure there are things I'd change about my life, but when am I not going to want that? I love my life and I'm happy where I am and am excited to see what happens and where I go :)

WOW

So I was going to add "wow" to my video tonight... but I forgot... so I thought i'd do a blog about it and remind myself to vlog about it tomorrow.
Anyways... there isn't much to say about Wow... it's almost 1 am so I recognize that I probably am not making a lot of sense. Not too much is new in my life since my last blog... Not that my life is boring, because it's been pretty interesting. And lots of fun. it's crazy not to constantly have to worry about homework and to stay up as late as I want and sleep in until whenever I want. It's pretty awesome.
I just realized some of my favorite singers/bands came from England. Like the beatles, Kate Nash, the Arctic Monkeys... sooo that's all I have, but still it just goes to prove how awesome England is.
WOW... I'm reallt tired and have nothing to say. At this point... of my life. K i'm done. I love you all.

Summer so far

As of today I am official fan of Summer 2009 Cedar City, UT. Sure it's not super easy to find fun things to do here, but once you try it's pretty dang fun.
Saturday I was not such a fan.

As you can see by this picture... I am clearly laying on my bed in frustration of indecisiveness... okay okay I know I am smiling, but put me in front of a camera and I always smile... or make a stupid face. Seriously though, I had such a crummy idea of what this summer was going to be like, but as soon as I decided to have positive thoughts about it, it got better! Just goes to show you, your attitude makes your experience!
I still haven't found a job yet, but there's a slight chance I might... stupid economy.
And Alicia is coming TOMORROW. WOOOOOO!
I miss my family a lot and it does kinda suck to think that I could be with them right now, and I could have an awesome full time job back home. But sometimes you just need to suck things up and take it how it is. This is also easier said than done. But I think it's worth it...I kinda just lost track of what I was talking about... but it sounded wise.
Well it's been lovely. Ps I still need to clean my room. Lame sauce.

Alicia is gone :(... my family is gone :(

So yesterday Alicia left me.. forever! Ok ok not forever, until Tuesday... but that's when we really have to say goodbye. I didn't even get to see her graduate because I was stupid working... and I didn't get to have dinner with them either. So on the way home from working I just cried my eyes out. I wanted to grab a stranger, look them in the eyes and say, "ALICIA IS GONE!" but that'd be a creeper thing to do so I just called my mom and told her. I know her and I will ALWAYS be friends... but it won't be the same as living with her. This is one of those excellent times to use the phrase, "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." and okay okay that phrase is true, but gosh darnit I am sad! I am grateful for everything she's given me and I don't think I would have made it through this semester without her. I remember when I first started CSIS, Kaily and I were sitting in my room and I was have a nervous breakdown. Alicia came in and read the book to me. She was so patient, nice and helpful. I really am happy for her, even though it doesn't seem like it!
This is funny... Alicia and I a little over a year ago

Alicia and I at formal (I told you I'd put a picture up of us!)

Also it's not bad enough that Alicia had to leave, Kaily left for Salt Lake on Friday and flies back to Chicago today, and Sharlene is leaving today for Salt Lake. Basically my closest and best friends are all leaving! It's okay though, I'm having a positive attitude and this summer IS going to be fun! I will miss my A Phi family though, and I can't wait for us all to return to each other... someday!
Sharlene and I... a year ago at Red Dress

Sharlene and I... and Alicia :) at Roommate dinner a couple of days ago

I'd put up pictures of Kaily and I... put I think that'd make my post too long, so I'll do that another day.

Last Day

Today is the last day of school. I did my last art project... well for 2D design at least, this morning. I have to write a paper for it too, I haven't done that yet. I really think I am in the top ten of world's best procrastinators.
Also, I love eminem's new song, We Made You. It's my new jam.
HAHAHAHA after formal Alicia said, "Why didn't we have a real dessert... I wanted Jam!"
:( She leaves tomorrow. But her, Ashley, Rachel and I had an awesome time at her cabin last weekend. I'm so proud of her and so excited to hear about all the amazing fun things she does. I can't wait for us to open up our time capsule. Summer 2019 or Bust!
Alicia officially graduates tomorrow, and since I recently got a one time photo assistant job for that day I won't be able to see her... except on a big screen t.v. That count though right? Well Alicia, I love you to death and I'll miss you bunches, but I'll still read your blog and call you all the time :).

We went out for a roommate dinner to wingers the other night. It was SO fun... even though everyone thought i was being a party pooper because I didn't want to write my hopes and dreams inside a ballon and let it go :p.

So I'm a little sad I'm not going home for summer. I miss my family SO much. July will come soon enough though and i'm SO excited for Sarah, Randy and Amanda to come out and visit. WOOOOO.
Oh, and Hannah, I hope you have SO much fun in China, I'm crazy jealous. You better bring me back a bomb.com present, and please not a shirt that says, "I climbed the great wall." Sarah gave me one of those when she came back from China... it was ugly.
All in All it's been a good school year though, I've learned a lot about myself, laughed harder than I thought I could, saw Shar's butt way more times than I'd have liked to, and made friends forever... so what if that sounds tacky. I can't wait to see what summer and fall bring!
