19th century Railways

I begin this post by prefacing it with the fact that I should be doing my paper on the effects of the 19th century railway. Seeing as I lost interest in the subject four pages ago... I'm blogging.

This past weekend I went to conference for Alpha Phi's southwest region. It was loads of fun and oceans of learning took place!

We took 12 excellent girls during our Spring Recruitment!!!

He's pretty much best friend <3

And well... that's really all about the news that's going on in my life. School is school and it's going well. I <3 my roomies still. I can't wait for spring break and this summer I want to move to salt lake! I hope you all have a great day and enjoyed this lil updatey

Seinfeld Rampage

Over winter break I've had quite a bit of spare time!! I read six really great books and watched a lot of Seinfeld. To celebrate my love I attached a clip from the most recent episode.
"Ya Gotta See the Baby!" watch it... you'll crack up.

What 21 means

Now that I'm 21 I can buy alcohol... if I wanted to...which I don't.
Now that I'm 21 people keep telling me to act my age. They don't understand I'm 10 at heart.
and Now that I'm 21 I wake up at 10am when I'm on Christmas break eat bread and butter and hot chocolate for breakfast and then wonder how I'm starving at 2pm.
... Now that I'm 21 I realize that I still can't properly feed myself a balanced meal.

Theak

I always think the words that you have to type in security boxes could be words... for example the word theak means leaky thinking... which is kinda like word vomit... but in your brain.
Anyway! To go over the hip hop a happenins of this semester:

- No. I did not get a 4.0, but I did get a 3.93!!!!! An A- was my downfall.

-I got a new little nephew! his name is Brigg and he is precious! I love playing with him and Emmett now that I'm home... maybe I don't hate kids so much. Aren't they adoreable?!

-Congrats to Miss Alicia! My Big!!! She got engaged and is getting married in like... really soon! I'm so excited for her and for her to "let me go till I see the light/let me go to my single life"...except not the single life and I guess I'm not that single myself... okay technically I am.
-BUT let me just say if i wasn't single... i probably wouldn't be single because of this redhead kid.

-I LOVE Michelle (My roomie back at school so much)! We've really become quite close and i LOVE it! We want to live together next year (hopefully in scholarship housing!!!) (she's the redhead!)

-Oh.. and I didn't get President of Alpha Phi... but it's alright. On the plus side I'm Vice Prezzz of Member Recruitment again!! I LOVE my department this year, my girls have been working extra hard!!!

Other than that... Well there's not a lot! My life right now is just chillin at home reading a massive amount of good books, getting ready for Rush, enjoying time with my family and missing my friends back at school.
Peace and blessings!

why HELLO 7am!

Yes, I am awake this early AND went to bed at midnight. Booyeaaaah.
Since I'm not doing anything and am supposed to be doing several things I figured it's the perfect time to update the bloggster.
Majority of my month of October has been spent:
1. Kicking butt at school! I've only gotten two B's ALL semester. Try and stop from getting a 4.0... I dare you.
2. Bonding with ma roomies, who i <3 so very much
3. Enjoying my new nose ring (don't worry! It's tiny.. and not a ring, more like a stud)
4. Hanging out with this ginger kid who makes me laugh and is by far the most interesting person I've met in Cedar for awhile
5. Loving Alpha Phi... pretty much every minute of it, as usual
6. Visiting Alicia & Going to General Conference
The rest of my October will be spent:
IN VEGAS!!!!!!!! We're going for my roomie Michelle's birthday and have rooms reserved at Mandalay and the Luxor... chyeaaaaa. SO excited!!!

Eat, Pray and....

photo
(courtesy of Ethan Young)

Sometimes I like to see what my classmates are doing from high school and so far I've been most impressed with Ethan. He's at film school in NY and is producing actually good stuff... like this picture!
In addition to observing Ethan's work I saw the movie Eat Pray Love tonight. It got me thinking about choices I've made in my life and where I've ended up and where I ultimately want to go.
Occasionally I fancy the endless ideas of all the amazing things I could do with my life. It's overwhelming, daunting and beyond exciting all at the same time. I wish that I could express to everyone that they themselves have the capability to TRULY do anything they want. If you want to be a producer of movies- you can do it. If you want to travel the world, go ahead! You have all the potential in the world and it's yours for the taking. Again I remind myself that I never want to settle for anything less than what I want... whatever it is

"but it could have been better!"

Actives + New Members :) This is why I do what I do and don't sleep for a week :)
for the moments that I know I'll never forget.

What I liked about rush week:
-having a lot of responsibility
-getting actives excited about rush!
-rushing potential new members!
-watching all of everyone's hard work come together
-the inside jokes "what is that?" "oh... it's a kady pile", "your boyfriend sounds like a witch"
-hanging with out in Kathleen's office
-kicking butt
I posted this picture for you Alicia! LOOK AT OUR CAKE! (the theme was "a night in vegas")
What I didn't like:
...the fact that while we got 48 INCREDIBLE new members it still could have been better! There is always always always room for improvement and I know it was a great rush but I wish I could go back in time, see what problems I knew would arise and fix them ahead of time!
Majority of our new members a few went home for the weekend... but still pretty impressive right?!
