Czechoslovakia has such an interesting history!

I always add a picture! Here's one from Philanthropy Week, I'm on the far left! Sorry I have no eyes...
Can I just say how dumb i am?! Seriously! Tonight I was reading my homework for my English Class: Writing About Art and it referenced the Czech revolution, of which I knew nothing about, so I looked it up on wikipedia. Come to find out when I was like two years old all these revolutionary things and revolutionary people were producing, changing and totally re working their whole form of government and society and I HAD NO IDEA! I was left with even more questions than when I began.
I feel so inspired to just learn everything! Well not everything, mostly just stuff pertaining to art and history. Math and Science still don't interest me all that much, there is nothing subjective about them and sometimes that's nice but overall it's just boring (this is an opinion only).
Sometimes when I walk around on campus I think of all the people just on my campus that are learning things! And then I think about all the people in the US that are learning things and about all the people in the WORLD that are just learning THINGS! I feel like if we're all learning all these different things why can't we just stop talking about things and start doing them! For example why can't we get some scientists, mathematicians, artists, workers and theorists together and solve world hunger already! If we have all these brilliant people in the world, with all these talents why are there so many problems?
I know this probably sounds dumb and crazy... but I was just thinking about it so I thought I'd blog about it.
In an update of my life... I have had such a FUN weekend with sharlene and my roommate kassidy! Shar and I streched together and just followed each other around all Sunday morning and I know that sounds weird and boring but it was SO FUN/funny. Alicia is home though and I'm happy again, I've missed her and her wisdom! I can't wait for Kaily to come home I miss her to pieces! I got my printer but I need a cable for it and I've hung out a lot with Travis too... we made pudding on Valentines day. Ummm other than that not much else new. I have been SO grateful for this three day weekend and wish we had one every weekend, but whateve's S'all good. peace out blog love you much.

Make Your Dreams Come True

^ MY AMAZING ALPHA PHI FAMILY AOE
oh blog blog! i love youuu!
So on this eve of Valentines Day (technically Valentines Day, but whateve) I'm chilling in my bed... ALONE. not that there's anything wrong with that and frankly i'd be a little concerned if there was a boy in my bed at 1:30 in the morning. unless it was john, he usually just lays on my floor though and listens to all my problems and offers no advice which most of the time i appreciate more than useless advice other people give me. He is such a good friend and I'm glad I'm his Valentine, in a friend way.I've realized that this is the first year of my whole life I've actually had more than one Valentine! How is that even possible? Talk about ugly duckling to beautiful swan... or however that weird story went...
Anyways today has been. Overall this week has been pretty stressful though. I got a little cold, but I'm fine now, bless modern medicine! Mostly it was our Alpha Phi Philanthropy that was stressing me out. I feel like we had such sad marketing efforts and our events were thus poorly attended. Last year was incomparable and I think it was much more of a success and I just wanted to help, but I wasn't sure how! And I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with Kaily and I was sad! She is so my favorite (and only) little and my best friend (besides Hannah lol) and she reminds me to be a good positive person.
So this semester has been mostly about having fun. I feel a little guilty for having so much fun and not doing a whole ton of work, but I've still been getting good grades! I just want to be everywhere and do everything! Okay that is pretty impossible, but whateves I'm tryingggg!K it's late, and I have spontaneously decided to go to bed. Night blog. xoxo

The Library

^ The roommates and I at Denny's @ 2AM for Alicia's Birthday
I love chris spies. He forced me to recognize that I haven't posted a blog in almost a month. Unfortunately I am not like my dedicated slightly crippled roommate Sharlene who updates her blog as frequently as she showers. This is mostly in part because I know no one really reads my blog and because I have a journal. Now that I am back at school, blessed school, I have my journal with me and I typically write in that.
Well anyways, enough blah blah, let's get down to the nitty gritty aka me updating you on my life.
This semester has been AMAZING. AMAZINGLY fun, difficult at times, and crazy. I'm getting along with ALL of my roommates, but maybe it's because I'm hardly ever home. I still spend most of my free time, or time that should be spent doing homework, at the Sigma Chi house. Recently I've realized that guys are just as dramatic as girls... well not dramatic, but they kinda cause there own weird parallel universe of bizarre drama. All of the sudden these boys pop out of the woodwork of my life! I was perfectly content and happy being single and BAM! boys come and complicate my life.
Oh, and now I'd like to offer an apology to Connor (people reading this you can either skip or continue reading, I don't care):
Connor, I am sorry that we have drifted apart and that I have become so incredibly busy. I know at this point I probably seem really similar to every other girl that you've ever liked, but let me explain. I'm a firm believer in time, not fate, but time. I believe there is a time and place for everything and if it's not your time or place why bother? Let me use our relationship as an example. I liked you, you liked me. But things are never as simple as that. The five hours distance helped separate us, so did all the things i do (alpha phi, church, school, the sigs, kaily etc..), so did the fact that you're going on a mission, so did the fact that I want to go on a mission. You see, I'm just a little too logical to let my emotions get in the way of my life plans. I apologize for thinking that you even care right now, and if I hurt your feelings at all, because that was not my intention.
Anyways... in other news. I AM GOING TO CALIFORNIA FOR SPRING BREAK! My dear friend Ryan lives there and I'm just gonna chill in Orange County for a couple of days with him. I'm really excited since I haven't been back there since I was two and I've always wanted to see the west coast AND i just want to spend spring break on a beach.
My classes are going well. I dropped nutrition due to complications with textbooks and a cd-rom. I hate CSIS, but continuing in my optimistic spirit at least I'm learning stuff! I LOVE my 2d design class, and my art history class, despite being at 8am is potentially my favorite. I LOVE ART HISTORY.
Oh, and because my gallbladder surgery apparently didn't work I can't eat fat anymore. I know I know it sounds kind of sucky, but really it's not! I can still eat my favorites (besides cookies, cake, etc...) like cereal and fruit and spaghetti O's and it kind of forces me to be healthy, which I only mind sometimes like when I really just want chocolate!
All in all I've been leading a pretty comfortable life. I love my sisters. I love and miss my family, especially Rileypants. I love my roommates, my house, the Sigma Chi house, church, my classes and just my life! There is so much to be grateful for and everyday I grow more and more grateful for the blessings, people and fun I have.
Oh... and this post was written in the library(hence the name)
PEACE OUT!

hesitation, procrastination and complication

^Kaily and I making brownies for the Sigs!
So we all know I'm not very consistent when it comes to blogging. I'm not very consistent in a lot of things either, but that's another thing.
So I've been thinking about how people tend to hesitate. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, or a good thing. Just think about how you hesitate to send that text message, you hesitate before you give in to a kiss, you hesitate when you think about not going to class, you hesitate when thinking about whether or not you really want to go to that party. There are endless moments of hesitation. Is it because we're human that we do this, is it a natural instinct? Or is it because we don't really trust ourselves? Is trusting yourself, or lack there of, a natural instinct? I know for sure that I hesitate, whether or not it's for the better, all the time. I'm very indecisive. Take me to any restaurant and you'll witness it.
Procrastination. That single word could be considered the definition of my college experience, well not entirely, but a big part of it. I procrastinate SO much! In everything, in my church calling, in Alpha Phi, in school, in calling people back! Why?! WHY DO I DO THIS?! It only stresses me out more. It's so frustrating that I frustrate myself, but I've always been a procrastinator. And it's not that I don't get things done or don't get them done well, I just get them done in an uncomfortably close time frame.
Have you ever thought about how complicated your life can be sometimes and then you realize that it's really not? I know that sounds a little out there, but just stick with me! Like you think you have all these problems and life really couldn't get any worse and then something amazing happens. Whether it happens through someone wonderful in your life, an experience or just something happening. I mean like I have problems... but WHO doesn't, really. I don't mean that like OMGIHAVEPROBLEMS, it's just a fact and I'm finally starting to realize that when you're going through the hardest times that's when you need to be closest to the Lord, and sometimes that the hardest thing to do, but I know life tends to un-complicate itself when you do so.
In other news this week was the first week of school! And other than the mass amounts of food I've been eating, it's been amazinggggg! I can't even describe how happy I am to be back in Cedar! I love it here so much! Not so much that I want to up and move here and raise a family here, but it's great for college!!! I love all my classes, except for CSIS, which blows chunks. I LOVE my writing about art class, 2-d design, and 20th century art history class, i love art, i love my major!!! SO MUCH! And I've made new friends! I've been hanging out at the Sigma Chi (they're a fraternity) house a lot and they're just so funny and laid back. They always have some party to go to, some toilet to blow up and as long as you're at the house you're invited! Plus we've even been having decent weather! I really love being back :) I want to make this semester the BEST one yet!

SO this is the new year

In the spirit of resolutions, which i wholeheartedly believe in, I have decided to post mine on my blog! I'd just like to throw out there that I think people should have monthly, weekly and daily goals too, not just on new years! oh... and yearly goals too.
SOOOOO mine are:
1. to better manage my money
2. to stay fit and healthy... well become more fit and healthy, i've been slackin
3. to run the St. George marathon. I AM SERIOUS I AM GOING TO DO IT.
4. to get a 3.8 at least, this next semester
5. to perform to my very best at everything!
6. to maintain my constant and current happiness
7. to be a better listener and friend
SO those are my new years resolutions!!!yayyy! ps sorry i've been terrible about updating you.I know I know... I'm a terrible blogger and my journal would be severly disappointed.
So sometimes I feel really lame and like I waste a lot of time. Maybe another resolution should be to be more productive. I kinda just wish I had this hugeeee list of eveerything that i needed to do in my life and that I could go through, know exactly how to do it and to do it perfectly... but I doubt that'll ever happen.
PS it's new years ever and I'm not anywhere, it's snowing and cold out and I didn't even want to do anything so i didn't. BUT just so everyone knows I did get invited to three parties... so I'm not a social reject.
Also, I love being home, but I love school too and I just want to go back! Sometimes I think I have alter egos. Kady is totally different than tt and I'm not sure which one is better, or if either of them are better or if i'm even making any sense. and if you know both kady and tt then you get this weird combination that's maybe the real me. Not that tt or kady are fake, they're just different parts of me... I think tt is more sarcastic, sly and bold. Kady is more reserved obedient and somethin else. But most of the time I'm just me and don't even think about which name I belong to.
I'm not sure what else to update you on except that I worked a lot, had a most wonderful and amazing Christmas and have done lots of fun things with family and friends. I've gotten to know connor better and just love him to pieces (sorry you have to read this alicia) lol and have learned how much i love being dependent and independent. I've definitely become more lazy and I kind of hate it.I can't wait to be my more efficent self again.
I hope to continue to learn more about myself, and grow spiritually and in so many other ways in this upcoming new year. I'm glad for this new beginning but I think so many don't realize that everyday is a new beginning and I'm grateful for that too.
Alright, well it's almost 11 and no... I'm not watching the ball drop... I think it's kinda a silly thing. No idea why... but I'm tired and I'm gonna go to bed now! Happy New Year everyone- DO GREAT THINGS WITH IT!

I love you

So this morning I woke up and started thinking about love. I think it's sad that some people don't believe in it and that they use the word so sparingly. It's also a crying shame that we're all a little hesitant to use it. I mean aren't we all commanded to love each other? So why are we so afraid of it? I think what people are more afraid of is trusting. I think people are afraid of making themselves vulnerable... but does that mean that you have to trust someone completely before you love them? Can't you just simply love them? Maybe we're all so afraid of love because it's so undefined, it has so many meanings! It's a noun and a verb and just holy cow it's all ova the place!
I was also thinking about kissing. Someone once told me a kiss should only be used to show sincere affection, respect and admiration. And I'm not sure about the rest of you but I'm pretty sure that not all of my kisses fall under those requirements. And it makes me a little sad that I've let so many people kiss me, and I them, when I knew that they didn't feel that way. There are a lot of alterior motives for kissing people... which can be good or bad... depending on how you look at it. I know personally I've used "it's just fun!" "practice makes perfect?" "it's not the horniness... it's the lonelyness"(that comes from the Office.. and other sources ;) ) and a couple others that are not appropriate to share over the internet.
Anyways I'd just like to say that when I say I love you I MEAN IT! it may not be head over heels, shooting stars, take me on a magic carpet ride kinda love. It could be just as a friend, "i love hanging out with you!", or "you just make me happy" love. And if you ever need me to define my love for you, just ask :p. And if I've ever kissed you, sorry if it wasn't in the way it should have been. And if it was- you're lucky and one of few ;)

Best Friends!

“When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.”
^ Someone really smart and wise said that.... but I'm not sure who.
Last night my bestest friend ever slept over! I was so happy that I was able to pick up Hannah at school and that we could have an ESB sleepover. Hannah is a great best friend. She's not one of those best friends that are especially needy or annoying, we don't have to talk every second of everyday and sometimes we go over a week without talking to each other, but I know she'll always be there for me. And I'll always be there for her! We've been best friends since we were 11, I still remember that we became friends at the schenectady planetarium. And we've gotten in some fights, but usually we fight, then don't talk for a couple days and then we're over it and we laugh about it from then on. And even though we're pretty much polar oppposites (well in some ways) it works. We've perfected the art of telling stories together, since we know all of each others and we sometimes exaggerate for the other person so they sound extra cool. We work well at parties together because of our perfected art of storytelling and it's almost to the point where were can be like "remember that time..." "YES!!!! Ahhh! that was so funny!" Which I understand may be obnoxious to other people, but really it's a talent. Hannah knows everything about me. No joke. I love my wittle hannah banana to pieces!
But I have so many awesome friends and i just love them all! I think together they all make up who i am. Like Kaily is my crazy fun "I JUST LOVE LIFE" side. Alicia is my responsible side. Chris is my sarcastic side. Connor... well he's kinda like me... but in boy form, and let me tell you, if i was a boy and if i was connor i'd be verrry cute! Does that make sense? lol k i'm kinda creepy. K well I'd love to chat more... but it's time to make christmas cookies!!! yay!!!
